WOW!house was a unique 500 sq m showhouse, built within the Design Avenue at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour. Its 18 full-size rooms were created with world-class interior designers, working in collaboration with globally recognised design brands and incredible suppliers. WOW!house was exciting and immersive, allowing visitors to experience first-hand what is normally out of reach – the work of masters in their field.

A series of exclusive talks were curated to inspire and inform.
WOW!talks offered exclusive access to global A-listers; audiences were able to discover more about their WOW!rooms and dive into their highly creative approach.

Twice a day, visitors took a fascinating journey through the WOW!house and got extra insights into the creativity behind the WOW!rooms with a special guided tour.

The WOW!Gala was the grand finale to a spectacular event. An extravaganza of cocktails, culinary delights, games, entertainment and dancing, as well as the last chance to see WOW!house before it closed its doors, it brought the design community together for fun and fundraising.
The event benefitted TP Caring Spaces, a cause whose ethos is “to fill charitable spaces with great design”. On behalf Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour and TP Caring Spaces, we are grateful for your support for this charity gala.

Why visit WOW!house?
Whether you are a design professional, an individual with a passion for interior design or someone looking for ideas for an upcoming project, WOW!house was a must-see.
Each of the 18 rooms that visitors walked through presented different styles, colours, patterns, textures, craftsmanship, art and objets, all with their own story to tell. The designers have been given carte blanche to decorate their rooms, allowing their imaginations to fly, while a specially commissioned soundscape by Leslie Kwan and fragrances by Wick & Tallow made WOW!house an even more immersive experience.
To get even closer to the heart of each space, there was an accompanying programme of talks and tours. Designers shared how they created the design magic within their rooms, and explained how it all came together.
Once your WOW!house visit was over, your journey of inspiration had just begun. Head to the Design Centre’s 120 showrooms to talk to experts and source for your own projects; dissect what you’ve just seen over lunch at Design Restaurant by Social Pantry; or book an appointment with the Personal Shopping team.

From leading names from the kitchen and bathroom industries to outdoor furniture manufacturers and fabric and wallpaper houses, they contributed an incredible level of expertise, and in many cases showcased their bespoke capabilities by making one-off pieces for their rooms, in collaboration with their chosen designers.

Conscious Creativity
The sustainability of the WOW!house has been at front of mind, from concept to execution. All designers worked to the brief that as much as possible should be repurposed and recycled.
Mamou-Mani’s facade is made from 3D-printed bioplastic. A mix of fermented sugar and wood that is a cradle-to-cradle material. The facade is modular so can be reconfigured and used again, while the wider build structure will be taken down, stored and used for subsequent shows.
All flooring in the showhouse will be lifted and re-used in other projects, or stored for use by WOW!house 2023’s chosen charity, TP Caring Spaces.
Fabric walls and ceilings will be repurposed into cushions and client samples.
Furniture, fixtures and fittings that have not been sold are being returned to the suppliers that loaned/supplied them.
A limited number of show guides are printed and visitors are encouraged to use the QR code in each room to digitally download full information.

WOW!HOUSE 2023 CHARITY PARTNER
Established by interior designers Bunny Turner and Emma Pocock of Turner Pocock, TP Caring Spaces was the charity partner for WOW!house 2023, and a portion of all sales will be donated to this worthwhile cause. Their mission is “to find the gaps and use our skills and network to fill charitable spaces with great design.” Since 2020, they have worked with Mencap, a retreat for cancer patients, Guy’s & St Thomas’ hospital and a women’s refuge in west London.
“The funds that come in from WOW!house are completely transformational for our next couple of years and the scale of the projects that we can take on,” say Bunny Turner and Emma Pocock. Claire German, CEO of Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, says that “we believe in interior design as a force for good; our environments enhance our mental and physical wellbeing. TP Caring Spaces’ initiative instantly resonated – we want to play our part by raising awareness and funds for this proactive charity that brings the design world together. Transforming cold, utilitarian spaces into nurturing, harmonious havens will make a huge difference to carers, patients and their families.”
