Branch Lines
French designer Christophe Delcourt almost always creates an interesting feature of the legs of his furniture, turning them from functional supports into unusual decorative elements. The ‘YBU’ (pictured) is a case in point: the irregularly spaced legs look like severed tree branches and are full of movement, contrasting with the smooth rounded slab on top. It’s available in a natural wood finish, but this striking version in orange lacquer gives it a completely different feel – somewhere between East Asia and western pop art.
