LONDON DESIGN WEEK 2017
at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour
(12 – 17 March 2017)
The Science of Design - Discovering Design’s DNA
From 12 -17 March 2017, designers, architects and tastemakers from the UK and overseas will head to Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour for spring’s ultimate design event. With a burgeoning interest in the science of design, London Design Week 2017 this year is all about exploring methods, makers and materials that have shaped the new season.
The word ‘science’ comes from the Latin ‘scientia’ which means ‘knowledge’; so if you really want to keep ahead of the curve on luxury interiors today London Design Week 2017 is not to be missed. Highly immersive, it promises a packed programme with opportunities to learn the secrets of design’s DNA. Connect with top influencers and big thinkers, explore new perspectives and see the results of invention and innovation up close. Join discovery tours and trails, encounter pioneering experts, exchange ideas with specialists at workshops, see amazing demonstrations and get rare insights from an all-star line-up at the Conversations in Designs sessions. Bursting with new ideas, explore themes of botany, geology, chemistry, zoology and much more, imagined by some of the most creative minds in the industry.
Design is a multi-faceted and complex enterprise; it involves an understanding of how people live, the pursuit of excellence, as well as a passionate interest in experimentation, craftsmanship and technical expertise. It is this depth and richness that makes visiting London Design Week 2017 an experience like no other.
With ground-breaking approaches to design from 600+ established brands at 120 Design Centre showrooms (as well as outside participants in Chelsea), this show offers a comprehensive collective to a global audience. Add to this courtesy transport, a specially commissioned restaurant and thought-provoking installations and pop-ups. And don’t forget, entry is free.
